Pension Finder

What’s needed to get started?

Currently available in-app only, you’ll need to download the Wealthify app and create an account to use our Pension Finder service. From there, the following information is required for us to start searching for your pension:

  • The company’s name you worked for and rough dates you worked there.
  • The pension provider’s name (if known).

What is Wealthify's Pension Finder service?

Wealthify’s Pension Finder is a free service that helps you track down old pensions you may have lost or forgotten about. Whether you’re trying to find previous workplace pensions or personal pensions, our expert partner, Raindrop, do all the hard work searching — so you don’t have to.

Pensions will be searched for based on the employer and/or provider details given. If found (and provided we can accept them), you’ll then have the option to transfer to a Wealthify Self-Invested Personal Pension.

Who are Raindrop?

Raindrop are a UK pension finding specialist, who will reach out to your pension providers and if necessary, your previous employers, on our behalf.

How long does it take to find my pension?

Provided you've given us all the necessary information, the process can take anywhere from 2 to 12 weeks. Regardless of whether we find your pension(s) or not, we’ll confirm either way by contacting you as soon as possible using the contact details you provided.

What information will be provided about my pension?

If your pension is found, we'll provide a copy of the Pension Policy document received from your provider. Please read the document carefully, as it provides important information about your pension, including its value.

If you do have any questions or need further information, you'll need to speak to the pension provider detailed on the Policy document.

Please note you can transfer most types of pensions to Wealthify, apart from:

  • Pensions with a defined benefit (DB), guaranteed annuity rate (GAR), guaranteed minimum pension (GMP), or final salary promise;
  • Pensions with protected benefits such as Protected Tax-Free Cash, or Protected Pension Age;
  • Pensions you’re already taking an income from;
  • Overseas pensions, including Qualifying Recognised Overseas Pension Schemes (QROPS);
  • Crystallised plans.

Please note we can only accept defined contribution plans that have no safeguarded benefits or guarantees.

So, if you are considering a transfer, please check your Policy document first along with the considerations presented in the app.

Will it always find my lost pension?

Unfortunately, we won’t always be able to find your pension. If we do have any issues locating a pension for you, we’ll let you know why via a dashboard notification within the Wealthify app.

Are there any pensions you can’t search for?

We can’t search for:

  • Public sector pensions (e.g. NHS, Councils);
  • Pensions from employment ending before 1990, or ones you left before turning 22.
  • Pensions from employment that lasted less than 3 months or less than 2 years before 2000.
  • Your current work place pension that you are actively contributing towards.
