Graduate Software Engineer

Join a truly amazing team, revolutionising the world of investments!

At Wealthify, we’re changing the way people save and invest. Our promise is simple: no complicated jargon, no daunting fees, just straightforward, effortless investing from just £1.

Wealthify is an investment service which can be accessed online or using our mobile app for iOS and Android. We also have an Open API which is being used by Starling Bank, Bud, Yolt and Aviva to deeply integrate Wealthify into their own apps.

We’ve partnered with Aviva, and whilst remaining independent, Wealthify is now offered to their millions of UK customers.

The role

As a graduate developer at Wealthify, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of experienced engineers in a rapidly expanding and successful FinTech start up, which recently acquired major backing from insurance giant Aviva.

You will be able to draw on the experience of those around you, be given real projects to work on, such as new features for our mobile or web apps, and progress to more senior positions as your skills develop.

You will get to learn and use a wide range of technologies, working across front end websites, mobile app development for iOS and Android, web services/APIs, and back-end code and databases. We are primarily Microsoft stack, but adopt other technologies when right for the task at hand. We’re currently using:

  • C# .NET MVC
  • Umbraco (Open source .NET CMS)
  • WebAPI (Rest API) and WCF (SOAP)
  • JavaScript, HTML5, Sass (CSS), Gulp, Node.JS
  • Typescript, Angular, Ionic/Cordova (App development)
  • Azure SQL Databases
  • Azure technologies such as Service Bus
  • VSTS + Git (Source control) and Octopus Deploy (Release)

You will receive on the job training, receive one on one mentoring, constructive code reviews and performance feedback, and access to learning resources.

As a team we write high quality, performant code, and release new features often (several times a week). We use tools for automated builds and releases and adhere to agile (scrum) principles. Developers all contribute to code reviews, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

You don’t need to have commercial experience in any of the technologies listed, but a genuine passion and interest in software/technology is essential. You will be familiar with programming principles and best practice in software engineering, and a genuine thirst to learn more. We reward responsibility and ownership with flexibility and freedom.
